As I've mentioned before, the thing I really like about CRPGs is the emergent characterization that results from the interaction between gameplay mechanics and typical player behavior–e.g. Commander Shepard being a walking HR incident who can’t drive and sucks at gun safety.

In that vein, my Pillars of Eternity character–through no deliberate roleplaying on my part–has turned out to be a weird idiot jackass who abducts every single cute critter he sees and bought a bigger boat just so he could run over anyone he doesn’t like, yet possesses such raw animal magnetism that every member of his crew has thrown themselves at him at least once.
